The Iron Man 3 Trailer is Here!

This movie has a chance to reinvigorate the franchise off the heels of the success of The Avengers this past summer.
I didn’t love Iron Man 2 the way I loved the first movie. The storyline where Tony Stark has to find a new element so that the suit doesn’t kill him wasn’t very interesting and it took away from some great potential that both Sam Rockwell and Mickey Rourke had as the villains along with the tension that Robert Downey Jr. had with Don Cheadle.
The War Machine storyline didn’t get much play as that was what a lot of fans were looking forward to. Now, it looks like we might get something closer along with a personal story with Pepper Potts’ life in danger.
We’re also seeing the potential in a dark storyline for Tony Stark. Much of the first two movies were cartoonish, but not in an over-the-top way The Avengers was. And that’s not to say that it’s a bad choice for the tone of a film. Iron Man and The Avengers worked that kind of tone very well. But no other Marvel film has been able to pull off a dark mood throughout a whole movie successfully. The only one that’s really tried was Daredevil, which not very many people liked. But with an established hero franchise, Iron Man 3 can give it a shot and likely pull it off with Guy Pearce and Ben Kingsley set to star as the villains.
With just one trailer in the books, we can’t wait to see more.
