Metric and front woman Emily Haines have been bringing the band’s unique version of Canadian alt-rock since all the way back in 1998, and every since their breakout album, Fantasies, dropped in 2009, they have been a regular on the festival circuit.

Many fans have been so used to hearing their tunes in such a wide variety of media like Zombieland, Entourage, FIFA, and CSI, that the group can seem a bit underwhelming on stage. Never the less, the band is old-hat at this festival thing, and still delivered slick and pleasing performances with hits like Dead Disco, Gold Guns Girls, and Gimme Sympathy. You also have to like Metric apart from the performances when you remember they were among the  first wave of smaller (but still very successful) groups to self-release their content, including their breakthrough hit Fantasies.

In summation, their sound may not capture all of an audience right away, but their skill and catchy  hooks and lyrics will ensure that audiences are snared in Metric’s web for a long time to come.

Below is a set list for the show:

Artificial Nocturne

Youth Without Youth

Speed the Collapse

Empty

Help I’m Alive

Synthetica

Breathing Underwater

Sick Muse

Dead Disco

Gold Guns Girls
