“Kick-Ass 2″ is on.

The bloody, hilarious 2010 movie is getting a sequel, and it’s looking like everyone involved in the original will be back on board. Aaron Johnson (Dave Lizewski/Kick-Ass himself) recently told Collider that co-stars Chloë Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse are set to reprise their roles as Hit-Girl and Red Mist. Matthew Vaughn will be moving to producer and Jeff Wadlow will replace him as director when filming likely takes place this fall.

Johnson insists that the sequel will be just as violent and vulgar as the first movie, keeping up the R-rated standard that made it, well, so kick-ass. The script is set to follow Red Mist’s rise to über bad guy status, according to creator Mark Millar, but there’s no word yet on how close the storyline will stay to Millar’s comic, “Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall.”
