Major League Baseball almost Sees another Man Fall from Stands

By Ashlie McEachernWhile advertisements usually drape the stands at Major League Baseball’s annual Home Run Derby, it is rare to see a fan hanging from them.
Keith Carmickle dangled over the railing at Chase Field after diving for a home run hit by Milwaukee Brewer Prince Fielder last night in Phoenix. Instead of plunging headfirst into a lower level 20 feet below, the Kingman, AZ man was saved by his brother and friend who managed to grab his arms and legs. Only four days before Carmickle’s tumble, 39 year-old Shannon Stone died while going for a ball tossed into the stands at Ranger Stadium.
Shortly after escaping the fall, Carmickle and his friends gathered their composure and celebrated the catch with cheers and high-fives.
How do you feel about the recent events at ballparks? Do the stadiums need stricter regulations on railing height or do fans need to act more cautiously?
